We’re home. Last night, as the wind relentlessly buffeted our tent, threatening to lift it (and us) skyward at any moment, Loren and I decided that in the morning we’d make a mad dash for home. We’d had enough of this camping shit.

So we awoke at dawn the next morning, drove for 15 hours, and the pie trip has come to an end. I’ve just emerged from the shower, where I shed several pounds of dirt, grime, and miscellaneous desert critters. I’m drinking a big tall glass of ice water as I type this, and when I’m done typing this, I will fall asleep in my very own bed. Finally.
