I filed my federal and state tax returns for 2002 today. Despite having made less money last year than I've ever made in my entire working life, I owe the IRS more money than I've ever owed before. I'm laughing so hard I think I may cry. Oh wait, I am crying. Ha.

Witheld income?
Why do you owe more? Is it because you're having less income withheld from your paycheck, or what?
Re: Witheld income?
Yeah. I had to file a 10-99 this year, thanks to my stint as a contractor for a certain local casting company.
that's too funny..
well, not really, but considering I didn't make over $12,000USD last year, and they took zero federal taxes out of any of my paychecks, I still got almost $3000USD from the feds and almost $200USD from state. Weird how that works, but I love Earned Income Credit. :D
