I’ve been a T-Mobile customer for five or six years now. I’ve bought several phones from them and renewed my contract several times. While I’m generally pleased with their prices and customer service, their coverage absolutely sucks.
Even in some heavily-populated urban areas, I often have trouble getting a signal. Until recently, I thought this was perhaps just a problem with their Oregon coverage. Beaverton and Hillsboro, where I spent most of my time, aren’t exactly huge cities, and I tended to live on the outskirts of town.
And yet, since moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, the coverage hasn’t gotten any better. The Bay Area is teeming with people. San Jose, where I spend most of my time, is the largest city in Northern California, and yet, in many places in the city, I’m lucky if my phone’s signal indicator shows a single bar. At Yahoo!‘s Sunnyvale campus I usually can’t get any signal at all.
When the iPhone was announced earlier this year, I was disappointed that I would have to switch to Cingular if I wanted one. Now I’m really looking forward to it.

Interestingly...
... just a few years back, T-Mobile's Bay Area presence was simply piggybacked on Cingular's existing network. I'm not certain, but it may still be this way in some areas. I had always imagined that because of this, T-Mobile and Cingular service coverage and signal strength should be more or less the same. Boy was I wrong. T-Mobile was just plain awful. That's why I switched to Cingular. Sounds like things haven't improved much.

I am happy to report that Cingular's coverage has been very good for me. Only in remote rural areas do I have trouble getting a signal.

If you make trips to LA you'll find the T-Mobile coverage isn't much better here. Although I will say it seemed to be much better when I was using a Motorola Razor instead of the Sidekick 3.
Been a Cingular customer since 2004
I hated T-Mobile the entire time I was on it. Same issues: sucky coverage and their customer service bites.
They don't have to care, they're the phone company.
Welcome to Silicon Valley, where technology is number @(#*@)#$*@#(RU@#(J@#(RJ$TNO CARRIER
UK T-Mbile rocks!!
Have to say that over here in the UK, T-mobile are one of the best providers going. I always have a signal and they are one of the cheapest networks going.
Sorry to hear that there US cover sucks so much!!
check the coverage maps
Wow I was this close to purchasing new TMobile service but then I decided to go to the company websites and check what their own coverage maps indicate. The Cingular and Verizon maps indicate great connectivity throughout Santa Cruz, but the TMobile map barely has a few pockets of strong coverage and most of the area is lucky to register two or 1 connectivity bar. Guess I'll be sticking with Cingular.

They Really Suck if you have a Sidekick 3 This piece of shit has been replaced 3 times in 7 months. IT DOESNT WORK. They're family plan is totally unreliable. Half the time when I call my husband it rolls to voicemail...and he's not even on the friggin phone. The battery only holds a charge for 10 hours IN MY PURSE..on standby. Now I have signed on for a 2 year contract with two phones that don't work and a service that can't be relied on. This isn't dips in coverage area..it's to the same two locations and sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. My husband has to email me at work (not on my sidekick of course) to ask why I didnt pick up the phone. I've missed appts. because the phone with calendar is dead. And don't try to find a pay phone in San Francisco...There aren't any downtown. You're really stuck when you have a smart phone and you're whole life is in a shitty device...DONT BUY A SIDEKICK!
No Incoming call with t-mobile
For the last 4 days and after having spent hours with t-mobile tech support both upper and higher tiers, I still am unable to get incoming calls. Tried changing phone, changed SIM card, rebooted many times. No luck! I am about to switch to another carrier.

Not a fan of t-mobile right now. 4.5 years of no issues. With in the last 6 months they have been horrible. The email support is a joke...as they have a 72 hour response time. Since my phone was dead, I tried it. 72 hours later I get a response....the response? "Send us your password." So, I did and got another 72 hour response time. Nice work!!!
Customer care is worse...they just don't care. If they did then they would make some sort of effort to make customers happy.
tmobile = WORST SUPPORT EVER!

I have had little to no service from T-Mobile in four months and they refuse to fix the problem. Their response when I advised that I had to contact them via email (with a 72 hour wait if they return the message at all and the admonishment that my once-weekly e-mails are burdening their queue) because my phone does not make outgoing phone calls: "Call us from a pay phone." Their most recent offer is to provide me a two-year-old refurbished phone when I purchased a new model under warranty.
They're service sucks on the east coast too!
I live in Lancaster, PA. I've had t-mobile for a couple of years... service at my house is so spastic. Sometimes I'll have up to 3 bars, and the next second, I have no service whatsoever. It's so unpredictable. Now, if someone calls me and I have service, and the call goes through, then my service goes to all 5 bars, and stays that way for most of the call, but sometimes I'll still get disconnected. Also, as soon as I hang up, the service drops completely and I have no bars for a few minutes. Some places I get good service... but like, even on the tourist-drenched route 30 with tons of stores and restaurants, an Amusement park, other tourist attractions... I still can hardly get a bar! The only place I get good service is on like, the Pennsylvania Turnpike, the NJ transit from trenton to NYC, and then in NYC. Everywhere I've been is crappy service. I can't wait to switch to Cingular (now ATT), but I've got slightly less than a year left.

I live in the Dallas area and my coverage is spotty at best. I can't get 1 bar most of the time at my house and when I do, I usually have to go outside. If I do manage to get a call off, it is a struggle to hear anything. I work 20 miles away and the coverage is better but I still drop calls indoors inside a simple one floor building. I just bought a brand-new Blackberry 7105 and am now on my 3rd phone since having this problem. It's definitely NOT the phone. My contract is expired and AT&T and the iPhone are starting to look pretty attractive.

Don't go with T-mobile. Thier definately the worst. They have the worst coverage and the most dropped calls. They also LIE about where the coverage extends to. Where they said they have a stong signal, I got NO service in side the house and lots of dropped calls outside of the house. I live in Tucson, AZ where the population is approx. 1 million.
No title
I called them up tonight and told them I don't have a signal inside the house. They gave me two options: one, get a hotspot wifi phone which cost $100+ or cancel my service earlier (cost $200). Also, they told me to read the contract again because they mentioned that it does not guarantee that I will have 100% coverage. What kind of stupid company is that!
Great T-Mobile service
I'm in a rural area north of Houston and T-Mobile service is great! There is a tower a mile from my house and another within 5 miles. Unless you have T-mobile in this area, you don't have any cell coverage at all, to the frustration of delivery and utility workers in the area. I've also gotten pretty good customer service, a lot better than I had when I was with Cingular. Then, I couldn't get anyone on the phone (in customer service) and when I called to drop my service I couldn't get them OFF the phone and the rep proceeded to psycho-analyze me in a very patronizing way. I've used T-mobile in England, where it is very popular and has great coverage, and on a recent trip from Texas to Wyoming I received a very important call from an attorney when we were out in the flat lands of the Texas panhandle and miles from anywhere, no cell tower even in sight, and with no roaming charge, on my V3 Razr. My whole family has T-Mobile, and I'll NEVER switch.

I live in NYC, Battery park city and I have had little or no service the last year I have been living here, The customer service is Horrible, THEY REALLY DO NOT CARE AND CANNOT FIX THE PROBLEM! tried to switch to a new phon(which they made me pay for, LOL) PLEASE DO NOT GO WITH T-MOBILE IN NYC, THIS IS HORRENDOUS SERVICE AND RECEPTION.
#1 Worst Service
I live in NYC, Battery park city and I have had little or no service the last year I have been living here, The customer service is Horrible, THEY REALLY DO NOT CARE AND CANNOT FIX THE PROBLEM! tried to switch to a new phon(which they made me pay for, LOL) PLEASE DO NOT GO WITH T-MOBILE IN NYC, THIS IS HORRENDOUS SERVICE AND RECEPTION.
t-Mobile rocks
i have t-mobile for over 3 years. i have had service everywhere. when i had a samsung i had spotty service but when i switched to nokia phone my service is great. when i travled to iowa i had service all the way there 5 bars for 1600 miles. tmobiles samsung phones suck u need to get a nokia or something else. first instance when me and my friends wnet fishing in the middle of nowhere he had verizon and no service and behold tmobile had service in boondocks lol. it all depends on the phone u have and how much of an outwatt it has for signal samsung sacrifices output power for battery life. so nokia will last 3 hrs on talk and samsung like 5.
t-mbole SUCKS!
T-mobile sucks. I live in Battery Park City, NY and I have no coverage for months. We suddenly lost coverage here one day and were told it will be atleast 4 mos before the service would be reinstated. It is 4 mos and still no signal and T-mobile just doesn't give a damn!
ZERO T-Mobile bars inside my house
Even after switching phones. Fortunately, T-Mobile let me out of my contract (I was a week over my initial grace period) and I switched to Verizon and now have 4-5 bars INSIDE my house, which is amazing. True, Verizon is more expensive, but having 4-5 bars in my house is well worth it.
TMobile IS TERRIBLE
No ONe ever go to TMOBILE THEY ARE THE WORST SERVICE and I have had SPrint and Verizon. THE COVERAGE Is Horrible they will say there is coverage and there not. THE customer Service is horrible Youll Just get mad talking to them. THe plans are okay but half the time you miss calls.
T-Mobile in SF compared to Verizon
I carry a personal T-Mobile phone and a company Verizon phone around San Francisco, Oakland, and Sacramento. Verizon always has signal and never drops calls. T-Mobile drops calls but mostly just fails to connect. It’s been getting worse in last 3 years. I can dial my wife’s T-Mobile phone from mine while we’re in the same room, both showing two or three bars, but my call rolls to voicemail while hers never rings. Verizon may be unethical (unless you LIKE the government spying on citizens), but at least their system works. I count the days until the T-mobile contract expires.
yes, t-mobile sucks
I’m in the middle of my second 2yr contract… and I just signed up for Verizon and if I have to, will gladly pay their fg penalty to get out. Their service in NYC used to be a lot better, but recently I get ZERO FG reception on most street corners / can’t make calls even when all bars are showing. Basically I’m sick and tired of having such bad reception – I would advise anyone to avoid T-mobile.
Coverage drops EVERYTIME i make a call
Anytime, anywhere – doesn’t matter where in the US… when I attempt a call (with usually 2-3 bars showing), the coverage bars drop off, and no connection can be made. Tmobile sucks, and I’m switching to ATT.
Fuck T-Mobile :)
As the 3G iPhone’s release is imminent, I can’t WAIT to finally get rid of t-mobile once and for all. I’ve had so many problems, especially extremely shoddy, spotty coverage in the middle of NYC (I’ve lived both in Tribeca and Harlem, and in both places, I had a constantly intermittent signal and dropped calls) for the past 3-4 years.. and so prudently I purchased my last t-mobile phone BEFORE my contract was up for renewal and paid the extra $100 bucks (full price for the phone, a Sidekick LX) so that I could let my contract lapse, which was last November. I can’t WAIT until that new iPhone is out and I can switch to AT&T- receive at least 2/3rds of my calls, make it thru an entire 5 min conversation, and can leave t-mobile ONCE and FOR ALL!!!!!!
tmobile sucks in NYC
I travel to NYC at least once a month and j hate tmobile up there it sucks. Not in Florida though always have full bars iPhone network speeds up to 190kbs up/down, when I ran the speedtest in NYC 40 Kbps
As mentioned in the former, TMobile service in NYC area "sucks"
After 9 years I finally concluded my service with Tmobile. Like others here have suggested, the service is terrible. I have the same issues in New York City, of all places you would think the coverage would be stellar. But no such luck. I have numerous dropped calls uptown, midtown and all over the boroughs. The multimedia functions are a joke and simply do not work most of the time. Tmobile has made little if any attempts to resolve their numerous holes in coverage. I could not even drive for more than ten minutes without the call dropping.
I know!
Oh I know how the lack of coverage feels my man. It’s rediculous, it comes to the point that I have bars but then it says no signal with a slash through the phone symbol!
That defies all logic!
Even in my own home signals just randomly disappear, but in the middle of nowhere it decides to acquire a signal. Switch services, T-Mobile isn’t worth the time or money.
T-Mobile now allowing early cancellation of service without fee depending on coverage area
I just got out of my T-mobile contract WITHOUT the 200 dollar insane service fee. Which they told me before was impossible. But now they are saying if you are only getting 1 bar where you live, you can legally get out of the contract and cancel immediately. I lived in Harrisburg, PA where my signal was constantly dropped inside my own house. In May I moved to Hummelstown, PA which is pretty populated only 3 miles from Hershey Park, cell phone towers are within walking distance of my new house.
Yet I could not get calls, and my signal would jump from 1 bar to 4 bars, to no signal at all depending on the wind.
On top of that I was only on the 29.99 basic plan, 3 months out of this year I got my bill to see it anywhere from 79-100 dollars for one month! Phone calls were on my bill I never made, did not even know the people yet my cell phone was always in my pocket at those times.
This month I had over 30 text messages starting at the same exact time each day at 8am when I am still sleeping, over 15 dollars in messages I did not make, and the best thing yet, the phone number the messages went to was a land line, that just so happened to be the first person in my contact list on my phone (this also happened to two other family members)
So I finally got out of the contract from Hell, but they are demanding I pay this months past due bill of 101 dollars when I only owe them 29 plus taxes. They also claimed I was over my minutes when I have my bill and usage right in front of me showing only 200 out 300 used.
I said you believe me that I cant receive or make calls and have no signal but yet at same time claiming I have made over 400 minutes in calls lol People in my house who know me know I do not even talk on the phone much at all, at the most 10 minutes a week.
T-Mobile not only has terrible coverage, they are theives, period.
I have paid almost 500 dollars this year in overcharges that were not done by me. Faulty phone and sim cards, a terrible company to deal with, when they know the prices of gas are already hurting our pockets. Cmon now.
T-mobile needs a mass lawsuit. I want my money back.
i pay tmobile for ??
had great service in 2003 – 2004 with T-mobile company…NOT anymore for last 2 years i had lost girls, friends and one job because of my T-mobile service + phone where not receiving calls… The bitaround the bush every time i called, tons of tips advices i got from customer service, i had 4 different phones past 9 month none would solve the problem…NOT I feel used and ripped off for money… Tmobile sucks big time
T-mobile is a rip off and full of lies!
Promised free upgrade (after having 3 phones, all NOKIAS that they pitch) because my current NOKIA works like crap. I call yesterday and come to find out that they (T-mobile) has no record of this. Had confirmation number, date, time…etc, but it’s not in their system. I therefore have to pay for another phone. That would of been number 4. I’m canceling, eating the fee and going with Verizon.
TMOBILE SUCKS IN ATLANTA, GA
TMOBILE COVERGE SUCKS IN GEORGIA
I live and work in downtown atlanta and their covergae just sucks…I get no service in DOWNTOWN or near any building. My co-workers have ATT and verizon and all of then get service. I feel so ashamed when they talk on their phones freely and I get no service. Tmobile is like $5-10 cheap than verizon or ATT BUT IT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY. I paid the early termination and switched to ATT. I GET COVERAGE EVERYWHERE…I’VE HAD ATT FOR like 2 months and there has not been a single place where it says NO SERVICE. ATT HAS GREAT SERVICE..
t-mobile pre-paid vs. flexpay vs. postpaid coverage
t-mobile describes different coverage areas for pre-paid vs. postpaid (contract) customers, but I think this difference relates to their roaming agreements (pre-paid doesn’t roam.) last winter I used a flexpay sim (supposed to be like postpaid but goes month to month). during the winter I could edge/gprs data. the data rates I experienced in santa cruz – california were horrible (like 10kbps) and when in stamford connecticut and manhattan (UWS) new york I barely managed 40kbps. these speeds were measured with the dslreports mobile web site using an ipaq pda/phone. I didn’t have access to an AT&T sim for comparison.
No signal, business line
This company is awful. I have complained to them many, many times. They keep telling me that their “coverage map” shows full bars in the zone where my office is. There are NO BARS. I have told them this multiple times. Their response is that they “will send someone out to verify the signal.” They’ve done that 3 times and I still have no signal. They say I have one and its just my phone. Funny; my secretary has the same service AND HER PHONE HAS NO SIGNAL EITHER! They keep saying that if I want to get out of the contract we have to pay a 200.00 early termination fee. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? T Mobile is AWFUL. This is a business line and we are losing revenue because their service is awful. We had a rep from Sprint call us and tell us he can likely pay the E.T. Fee to take over our business coverage. HALLEPHUNKINLULIA. T MOBILE EATS DONKEY CHEESE!!!!
By the way, we are in Southern California; how much more pathetic can that be?
I like 'em
Their coverage maps, if anything UNDERESTIMATE signal strength. I checked and I was only supposed to get 3 or 4 bars at my house….I get 5 solid. I made sure that the locations I would be using the phone would have 4 or 5 bars ahead of time. I noticed though that when I was in a semi-underground basement I had no service but a friend on Verizon was getting 3 bars (I get 5 bars outside of the building)….so while they may not be the best coverage/strength, they sure are cheap enough to get my pre-paid business.
tmobile
Their coverage is terrible everywhere!!
T mobile should burn in hell
I hate tmobile…there coverage sucks, their customer service is wack, and their representaives in their store are plain bitches….its so messed up how they expect you to pay 200 dollars just to switch compaines..they charge that much cuz they know that their company sucks and thats the way they make their money….tmobile should just shut down for good cuz their the worst out there.
Customer Care bad now?
T-Mobile has outsourced their email customer care to a company named NCO. NCO’s center in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada has been where ALL your emails have been coming from for a long time.
Now they have sent all the emails to the PHILIPPINES! Get ready for your email and webchat customer care to be coming from Filipino people! HAHA. I thought T-Mobile would never go offshore? They do through NCO. You thought your customer care was bad before?!
Don't try using T mobile in Montana
I recently got into a contract with T Mobile due to being told (sold) on their superior roaming coverage. Don’t try it in Montana as you won’t get any service. It tries to piggyback on Cellular One but won’t work. I never had this problem with AT&T anywhere. I will return to AT&T the minute I can get out of this contract. What a rip off company who oversells their ability!
Marietta GA poor coverage
T mobile worked fine in South Florida (Flatlands mostly 1 2 story buildings). But in Marietta area no Service in our small wood frame ranch house. They don’t have to provide that service. We are gone when contract runs out with these people.
Go at&t
Im on the east coast too, and the service here is terrible..there’s literally no where that I get service. and the worst part is, when I get no service and someone calls the phone, it doesnt go strait to voicemail..it doesnt ring, or do ANYTHING. tmobile is terrible and I’d encourage anyone to shop around.
T-Mobile for 6 years and it's gotten much worse
I pay for 5 T-Mobile cell phone plans and only the two in the Miami area work well. I sometimes can’t get a signal in my house in San Antonio and was also told to buy the wifi service but no other solution. My daughter can’t get a signal on her college campus and we’ve been fighting them for 1 1/2 years before they finally let us out of the contract. I will seek a different provider as each of the other four plans matures. This is a rip off!!
T-mobile customer service turns customers into enemies, I tried the google phone
I tried the google phone. It didn’t impress me because it was already set up to use someone else’s gmail address so I could never check out the apps. What has made me a vocal enemy of T-mobile is the customer service.
I got a bill for $107 for the 4 days I had the google phone. Whew. I called T-mobile and they had a hard time locating the store that sold it to me. I had to look up the store address for them on the internet. Once I had it for them, they had to call the store and talk to them while I was on hold. Whew. This was starting to erk me that they were wasting not only my time but my cell phone minutes calling a store they barely knew existed.
I asked the to call me back when they had the information they needed. They didn’t call. I had to call them on Saturday. Same thing happened. I had to look up the store address for them. They told me I would be charged $7 for the 4 days I had the phone. I used the phone for 43 minutes checking out T-mobile service at my friend’s house in all the rooms. My cingular (att) service worked fine in all the rooms but t-mobile was only good in one corner of one room.
I drove around my area with both att and t-mobile phone making calls. I got the significantly fewer bars on t-mobile but was able to make calls from most places.
T-mobile service sucks but the customer service is the worst. I vow to help others by telling as many people as possible about this terrible service and bad customer service.
I will not pay the $7 and I will call the FCC or the local area reporting agency.
I don’t expect t-mobile to be in business much longer. Perhaps i should short the stock as well.
NO Signal ALL day
I haven’t had a signal all day.. Tmobile is terrible. Their coverage is weak and their phones look like crap. the only thing that has kept me with them is the hassle of changing. I have 3 phones am locked into their older “cheaper” plan.
PHONE SHUTS DOWN
I have had T-Mobile since 2007 and had no complaints until now. I live in San Antonio, Texas and my phone signal fluctuates from 0 to 5 bars within seconds and then my phone shuts off. Talked with customer service yesterday and they said the signal strength in my area is strong and I should not be experiencing any problems. Well this has been going on for about 1 week now and I’m getting pretty teed off. Time to call TV stations (from landline phone) and get them to investigate. Next calls will be to FCC & Public Utilities Commission. Glad my contract is up in 2 1/2 months. DEFINITELY SWITCHING CARRIERS.
Agreed
I am here in the Albuquerque/Santa Fe, NM area and same crap. Dropped calls and calls going straight to voice mail when I’m not on the phone. I’d have to say I never ever had problems until about a year ago and customer service has been quite curtious so come fall I’ll be switching carriers aswell.
I dislike T-mobile
i got the new sidekick ‘08 because i really liked it and being that it’s only on tmobile, i had to sign up with them. Before i got the contract, which is a really great deal, i checked my local coverage area on their map and everything was dark green (which means 5 bars). So i got the phone thinking wow i’m going to have the best service ever!, but when i got home (to the dark green area) i only had one bar, if lucky.
So a tip to you all, you can’t trust the coverage map!
Tampa, FL and suburb coverage sucks!
the title says it all, you’d think in one of the biggest cities in a state with the highest elevation of 30 ft would have 5 bars but nahhh. i hate t-mobile and i am switching to AT&T after making a call in my friends bathtub when i was drunk, i might not remember a lot that night but im pretty damn sure AT&T had a crystal clear connection, which is a whole lot more than i can say about tmobile’s crap towers.
T-mobile is horrible
I absolutely hate t-mobile. My family and all my relatives have it, that is why I’m stuck with it. Up here at college at UCD in northern CA, it is garbage. I look on the service map on their website, its the best service possible at my house. Yet, for some reason I can’t get a bar to send a fucking text. T-Mobile is bullshit, we need to file a class action law suit against this POS company for lying to us about coverage. Fuck t-mobile, don’t ever get it if you have a chance.
-Jordan, a pissed off person who can’t make a phone call or send a text from his house.
"Long legged pissed off Puerto Rican"
I’m from LA, it sucks there too.
-Jordan, Boss
And this morning no signal bars at all
It has been more than 2 hours and I have no signal at all in Claremont, CA, where the t-mobile coverage map shows dark green (best). There is much to say about my one month terrible experience with t-mobile. I had no SMS service for 3 weeks which I paid for, one missing part from a “new” G1 phone box, wasted long time with customer service without a solution…..
T-Mobile is great!!
T-Mobile coverage is great!!! I have enjoyed being a customer with T-Mobile for 11 years. I have never had a dropped call. Can you say that for Verizon?
Horrible Signal on my Blackberry Curve.
I’ve been with t-mobile since 2004, that’s when I had prepaid up until last year. Being a 20 year old with very little to no credit, t-mobile was the only one to sign me. I started having trouble almost right away. I live in the outer cities of Seattle which is pretty populated. All of a sudden, when I got text messages, they would delete themselves even before I got the chance to read them. I called t-mobile and they told me it was my memory. (it was NOT my memory and I know that for a fact. I had no pictures, no ringtones, nothing.) Eventually they texts came back. A few weeks later it happened AGAIN and I was told the same thing. It’s my memory. No it is not. And my biggest thing is dropped calls. At one point, my boyfriend was trying to call me and then when I FINALLY got service, I got an angry text from him asking why I didn’t pick up my phone. The downstairs of my house I didn’t have reception for 5 HOURS. I would get one bar for maybe 2 minutes and that was it. Upstairs wasn’t any better. Sometimes the calls are very staticey and they were cutting out. (that call was with my sister who also has t-mobile) I’m getting very frustrated with them. I’m thinking I should have built my credit up and gone with AT&T.
T-Mobile is the worst crap I have ever used
I have used G1, BB, several other features – they were all ploys that baited me to use this horrible garbage. T-mobile is by far the worst crap ever; I would rather go back to 1st gen cingular wireless.
T-Mobile Coverage is Dark Ages Bad
I absolutely astounded at how many dropped or missed calls I have. I live in a small city no one has heard of called San Francisco. My work pays for my phone or I would have left this company ages ago. Terrible terrible terrible coverage. I can’t comment on their customer service or their phones but I would strongly encourage anyone in the bay area thinking about T-Mobile to think again…
TMobile worst cell phone service
I have been with other cell phone carriers over the years, never had a problem with coverage. So we moved recently, and our new home, which by the way has two towers visible from my porch, has barely any coverage. Keep calling customer care, and one call we had with them dropped off during the call, they never even called us back! We have sporadic usage, and we are living in a more populated area now. All they do is say, they check the towers in your area, and we show 3 bars at the towers.
WE get no bars to 1 bar at our house, and we can walk to the towers from here. I am very frustrated. We recently had one of our young adult children call us on a sunday afternoon. First thing he said was Mom, been trying you for four hours, I am in the emergency room. I thought my head would explode. We were home, where our kids should be able to reach us. Told tmobile this, and thier response was “we show three bars at the tower”. they really don’t give a shit about thier customers. Worst part is, I have another year in my contract with these crooks. Does anyone know of a way to get out of a contract without the penalties?
Should not have to pay when NO COVERAGE
We have Tmobile also and my husband is a truck driver and he has alot of problems with service. We have been a customer for years. We have a contract that if I could break I would. We have 3 phones and they want $600.00 to cancel our service. We need to have service with him being on the road, it is a must. He was in Omaha Neb. for 4 days and could not call out. It kept showing emercency calls only. But I agree it it horrible coverage. VERIZON HAS BETTER.
T-Mobile sucks
I live in New York, NY I am with T-Mobile for past few years. While service was OK in the past it is getting progressively worse since last year. I have family account with 3 lines on it. All of us are having problem with coverage, from time to time our phones are not ringing when somone is calling and we are not getting notification about voice message. Same story with txt. I called tmobile customer service several times to notify them about these problems, all what I got was advise to turn off and on our cell phone once a day. I tried to discontinue our service with them but was informed that I will have to pay early cancellation fees for all of my lines (contract expires in May of 2010). This is my expperience… I am looking forward to go to Verizon, more expensive but nobody that I know who is with them never had a problem like I have.
TMobile has no coverage & demand cancellation fees
I have been a loyal customer of T-Mobile for 7 tears, pay all my bills on time, never registered a complaint.Until I moved into my new apartment where I discovered that T-Mobile has no coverage not only indoors but in the street as well.I have been complaining for months and now they say that they will try to fix the issue in 3 months(i still have to pay for the non service) and that in the mean time they will forward my calls to a land line(I don’t have one)When I asked to terminate the contract they tell me I owe them $300 in cancellation fees.absurd?u decide
Poor coverage in the posted "best" area
T-Mobile shows “best” coverage in SE Kansas, but I was switched to “USA” while in that area and couldn’t access my phone messages there or in NW Arkansas. A difficult situation while on vacation.
T-Mobile's additional charges and fees
I didn’t renew my contract with the company, due to the fact that my work situation had changed. This company is so greedy for money that it places a few cents on your account each month. Then when you decide to change to a lower plan, the company charge you the same amount you had on the higher plan as well including the lower plan amount for the first month of service under the lower plan. Needless to say that I had to drop the T-Mobile all together.
T-Mobile & Sidekicks are horrible.
I purchased a Sidekick 2008 in sept of that year and never experienced many problems even though i live in florida on a barrier island so the service is suspect at best with any company. I cannot make any connection to their network on my sidekick and one of the employees at their store with a sidekick told me that they were experiencing problems with the sidekick networks. When i call customer service no one is aware of that and I am continously sent through to the next person and forwarded to this department and that department and never actually get anything resolved. I have had a new sidekick a new sim card and nothing. Then i plugged my new sim card into a motorola razr from 2004 or seems like 1904 compared to my sidekick and I have service and can make calls. The only thing that T-mobile wants to do for me is send me more refurbished sidekicks that do not work or upgrade (and pay) for a new phone and RE-SIGN another two year contract to attempt to have a properly working phone while they expect me to pay my bill in-full for the past two months when the phone I am using has no internet nor any of the add-ons that the sidekick has? This is a terrible company with horrible customer reps. except a very select few. No wonder Paris Hilton is the spokesperson. As soon as I can I am going with the I-Phone or Metro P(iece)C S(hit)
Tmobile Sidekick Service
Your right, I am a new customer and the service sucks. I recently went to the Hawaii in the US and had no service. I just jointed T-mobile in August 09 and had my phone a week before it had to be replace.
Coverage is horrible
I have had TMorbid for a few years and I have never had any problems. Until now that is. I work the next town over from where I live and I have great coverage. I have all my bars and it’s awesome. However, I go home, I’m in my OWN house and I either have 1 bar or 0 bars. It’s ridiculous. I have called the customer service reps a hundred times to explain it to them and they give me the same old friggin speech, “According to our computer, the coverage in your area is strong and you should not be experiencing any problems.” I told this moron on the other end of the phone that according to my phone, I am experiencing problems. I was using the landline phone to talk to him but I had my cell in my other hand. I told him that I was looking at the bars on my phone right now and I have 1 bar, for the moment I have 1 bar. As soon as I said that, I had 0 bars and the phone had no signal.
The customer service reps are horrific. It’s an absolute horror show with these retards. You can’t get anywhere with them. Then they expect you to pay outlandish amounts of money for text messages that you didn’t send or calls that you didn’t make. I have had all the services. AT&T, Verizon, Nextel before it was Sprint and of course TMorbid. Let’s face the facts here, all these companies suck in their own individual way.
If you have ever gone into a TMorbid store, the reps there are morons, have no idea what they are talking about and then try to sell you a POS phone that they say is a great. Yeah sure, the plans they have kick ass but it doesn’t do any good when you have no service and can’t make a call or receive a call. The other day, my mom called me to ask me something. I never got the call. My phone didn’t ring or anything. It didn’t even go to voicemail.
When I saw her later that day, she asked me if I had gotten her call. I told her I didn’t. My phone never rang. The next day, I drove to 1 of the many Verizon stores that we have around here and I walked in, the rep greeted me. I told him what I wanted as far as a plan and a phone goes, being that I did my homework before I got there helped too.
So, I went in there, got the phone I wanted, the plan I wanted and the rep didn’t try to sell me into a shitty phone or plan, unlike what they try at TMorbid. I was in and out of the store in 15 minutes and I love my phone, the plan, service and signal. I had almost forgotten what it was like to have a phone that actually works.
Sure I had to pay the 200 bucks to get out of the contract with TMorbid but it was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo worth it. Now that I have Verizon, I am never going to be with any other carrier ever again.
Thank you TMorbid for showing me the error of my ways by having you assholes for so long.
Folks, whatever you do, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT get TMorbid as a carrier. They suck. Fuck TMorbid!
Not even a phone company
I live in Wellesley, Mass. I unfortunately recently switched to T-Mobile and the service is abysmal, as in nonexistent. I have several nights at home with, not dropped calls or bad reception, but simply NO SERVICE. If you live in Mass., West of Boston, for goodness’ sake DO NOT GET T-MOBILE!!!!
T-Moble Signal Strenght
The same here in Arizona. I used to have great signal 4-5 bars but for the last few months non in the house and weak on the patio. I’m only approx 3 miles from a tower!! Talked to T-Mobile many times with no luck. Also starting with the weak signal I also can not send any picture messages but to T-Mobile customers!!!! I have a lot of family in Europe and I used to send them pictures thru my mobile!
The service is pretty lousy! Furthermore, when I’m in Europe or Mexico I always havea 5 bar…how is this possible?
T-Mobile signal strength is real bad
I live in the Canoga Park -West Hills section of Los Angeles and t-mobile coverage is really bad. Fortunately for me my contract expired a year ago and I switched to ATT. Now I get 3-4 bars inside my house (tmobile none). Unfortunately my kids have tmobile and they hardly get any service or bars on the phone. We called and they said we can cancel the service for $200.
T-mobile is the worst
Let me start out by saying t-mobile may be good in some areas, such as New York City but not in mine.By the way I live in Long Island, NY,and they have the worst service. My mom signed a 2 yr. contract for me to use and it was okay at first. But after a few months I noticed how bad the servce really is. I constantly get dropped calls, poor coverage and sometimes the connection during calls is all statically.Talk about poor coverage I’m not just talking about loosing service in a basement,my phonedoesn’t get service driving down the road, once in a mall, my friend’s house, walgreens stores, Cvs; the only place I get service is in my room!! They say they’re getting more towers in the area but where? I usually have full or 6 bars at home but sometimes the signal will go down to 4 bars when i use the web and go up to 5 bars ,then 6 bars and back to 4 bars;it doesn’t make any sense. T-mobile may be $20 cheaper than at&t or verizon but it’s not worth it, it’s a really bad service.I’ve had 2 diffrerent phones, both of which has had problems with, so i think it’s the service not the phones. All I can say now is that the contract is up next year and I’m definately switching to verizon.
follow up on previous post
Anyone else that has problems with the signal strength nd has read my comment, please e-mail me at beholdli103@yahoo.com
T-mobile has bad service a lot and I cant’t wait to get a Blackberry curve on the Verizon network.
T-Mobile has always been bad, which is ashame
T-Movbile is only good in Europe because that is where it is based from (They are a juggernaut over there). They simply rent bandwidth from other carriers in the US and it is usually the back end of the data stream. I had a sidekick 2 and 3 in PIttsburgh and would get dropped calls in the city all the time. One second I would have no bars and then full. It was obnoxious. Always in and out. I switched to AT&T and never looked back. It’s ashame because T-Mobile’s prices are awesome, but in this case you get what you pay for. They somehow still have a chance to dominate the market, if they could only get the service improved. The pricing for unlimited data is very fair, but it’s no good if you can’t use it! I say people cancel and force them to improve or just avoid them at all costs.
