The eclectic musings of a bitter software engineer.

Sun: 1, wonko: 0

Thanks to Daylight Saving Time, my daily commute now has me driving directly into the sunrise in the morning and directly into the sunset in the evening. This wouldn't be such a big deal if every single traffic light along the route wasn't precisely calibrated to hang in front of the sun's exact position exactly when I arrive at said light.

Someone could make a billion dollars by inventing some kind of automatically-deployed sun shielding device for traffic lights.

They're called sunglasses.

ZOMFG! I like totally hadn't thought of using "sunglasses"! Wow! So tell me, these "sunglasses" of yours, they allow you to stare directly at the sun for minutes at a time, yes?

Depends on the sunglasses. I have Cogan's dystrophy which, when it flares up, causes a very painful sensitivity to light. I had prescription glasses made up with the darkest tint the manufacturer had. Most off the shelf sunglasses aren't half that dark. I don't know about minutes at a time, but I bet they'd make it bearable.

ZOMFG, huh? How do you pronounce that?
