A pelican in a London park scooped up and swallowed an unsuspecting pigeon recently. An epic 20 minute struggle ensued, but in the end, the pelican prevailed and the pigeon was eaten. This is the funniest thing I've read all day. Oh, and there's video too.

Hi, my name is Dimitri Gregorieff with the savethepelican.org I have seen a starving Pelican in Florida trying to eat a dead rat on the road. This Pelican was starving. I picked him up and brought him to a hospital where he got better. So, yes these birds will eat a diet other than fish on some occasions
