Lucida v0.1 released

Friday March 26, 2004 @ 06:45 PM (PST)

PHP 4.3.5 was released today and, since I promised to release Lucida as soon as PHP 4.3.5 came out, you can now download a beta release.

If you don’t already know what it is, Lucida is the PHP photo gallery I developed to manage my photos. It’s fast, efficient, pretty, and has some really nice administrative tools. It’s not quite finished yet, but I still think it’s the best web-based image gallery solution there is. I’m biased, of course. Download it and decide for yourself.

It is awsome, works well and fast. It has the exact features I was looking for in a photo gallary. Especially the thumbnails, and the feature of viewing the image at different sizes. Would work well for Wallpaper sites.

OMFG IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR MONTHS OMFG THANKS I LOVE U

now wheres the forum :(

ill go try the gallery now
Thanks a lot, Ryan! You da MAN. Honestly, I've been religiously checking PHP.net everyday for the last six weeks or so to see when 4.3.5 was out so that I could try out Lucida.

Sexcellent, sir!

I just tried it. Looks like you put a lot of time into it.. works flawlessly. Thanks :)

All it really needs is a way to rotate a picture and a way to add captions. Then you'd be set.

But I like how amazingly fast it is. That's the primary reason I love it so far.

Is there a command line argument for figuring out what version of php is installed on a computer?

er, thats really long so... `php -i|head`

Ryan, another home run. This is a fantastic program. Kudos.

Also, it works on PHP 4.3.4. :)

Are you running PHP on Unix or Windows? I know that PHP 4.3.4 on Unix had a bug that caused segfaults whenever Lucida tried to build a gallery tree. I'm not sure if the Windows version had the same bug.

And a way so that it monitored how many times each album and image had been viewed. That would be cool too. :)

PHP on Linux. Maybe it's something I am not noticing.

Also, someone should fix the spellchecker on Poseidon to recognize 'PHP' as a valid word. :)
