Bah. Bah I say! The fact that the internet is a seething cesspool of unlicensed word creation does not excuse the right-minded individual from attention to the rules of proper linguistic innovation! You should have applied for a dispensation first!
Just by reading the first paragraph of your step dad's latest blog entry, I'd say he needs to be writing detective novels for a living, or the plot to Max Payne 3.
I thought you had not read that book. Are English majors entitled to referencing materials they have not read? I think this may also be a breach of regulation.

Blogging Families
You found it before anyone had time to tell you about it. :) Who's next -- Rusty?
Re: Blogging Families
Setting up a slightly less sucky one, though.
...
Ryan, if 'coolpants' is a word, what about 'suckpants' ?
Re: Blogging Families
Yes, 'suckpants' is indeed a word.
Re: Blogging Families
Do you have a license for that word creation, sir? :P
Re: Blogging Families
Nope, but I don't need one, cuz I didn't create it. Google's got my back. Take THAT, language police!
Language
I'm not sure I'd base any linguistic rules on word usage by a person who can't spell "the" correctly even once in an entire paragraph! :)
Re: Language
Bah! 'Teh' is the new 'the'!

Re: Word creation without a license
A dispensation from whom? Where do I apply? Help me, English Major Felicity, you're my only hope!
Re: Word creation without a license
However, I'm not sure 'suckpants' merits such a distinction!
Re: Word creation without a license
Then what's the antonym of 'coolpants'? 'Uncoolpants'? That's just lame.
Re: Word creation without a license
'Doubleplusuncoolpants' to you, citizen.
